Here's another dish I haven't actually ever prepared.
It's just here so that I'll have the recipe handy later on.
walnuts
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 lb. walnuts
- 1/4 c. honey
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan, bring to a boil.
- Add walnuts, return to boil.
- Lower heat, let simmer for 10 min.
- Drain, spread walnuts on a cookie sheet, bake 45 minutes.
- Combine walnuts and honey in a small bowl, stir.
- Spread walnuts on another cookie sheet, bake another 45 minutes.
prawns
- 1/2 lb. prawns
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 c. cracker meal
- Shell and devein shrimp, and then pat dry.
- Coat shrimp with egg whites, then coat with cracker meal.
- Deep fry shrimp for 2 minutes.
putting it all together
- 2 T. mayo (yup.)
- 1-2 t. vinegar
- 1 T. condensed milk
- 1 T. sugar
- Combine sauce ingredients in a small, hot wok.
- Add fried shrimp, and toss until coated.
- Add glazed walnuts, and toss until coated.
Serve with rice.
