My sister Miran used to make something like these when I was a kid, and
I think she called 'em buckeyes. This is a different version of the
recipe, but it's pretty much the same idea.
- In a large bowl, mix:
- 18 oz (a jar of) creamy peanut butter
- 1 stick margarine (I suppose you could use butter, but it's really not
necessary)
- 3 cups rice krispies
- 16 oz (a box of) powdered sugar
- In a double-boiler (or over low heat, stirring often), melt:
- 16 oz milk chocolate (ok, if you want to inject some class into it, you
can use some nicer chocolate)
- 1/2 stick paraffin wax (!!) (available in the baking goods section, as I
recall... it's been a while since I made these)
- form peanut butter stuff into small (1 in. diameter or so) balls and dip in
chocolate/wax. Chill on a wax-paper (or foil) covered sheet.
Makes 40-50 sugar death bombs. |
